FaradayTod(Mar09)-Bill Gellert As a Faraday Value-Added Partner for the last two years, Bill Gellert, Operations Manager/ Product Development, works on all stages of suppression system design - from kitchen suppression systems to new system implementation of vehicle suppression, industrial dry chemical suppression, and clean agent suppression systems. Gellert, who has over eight years of experience at Northland in Operations, states, "I find Faraday is conscientious about the needs of the distributor. The new releasing panel, the MXP-6000 SRX has the same capabilities as the MPC-6000 R with separate releasing features at a better price; this is one example of how Faraday works to get us the right product at a good price."

"Our bestselling Faraday product is the releasing panel, the MPC-6000R with the suppression products Sinorix 227," states Gellert. "Our customers include: the Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union in Brainerd and Little Falls locations with three clean agent suppression systems; Central Lakes College in Brainerd, and North Country Regional Care Facility in Bemidji. These are good clients of ours and we provide other fire protection services at all of these locations. We found that their key concerns in the event of a fire was protecting their data and the dealing with negative downtime as well as replacing damaged equipment in the room or zone where the fire occurred. In the hospital and college locations, the rooms are usually required to have sprinklers per code. While they were pleased that the Faraday System worked well and would trigger properly in the event of a fire, their bigger concerns were loss of equipment or data from both the fire and the water damage. So, we put together a sales proposal for installing the MPC-6000 R Releasing Panels." The MPC-6000 R Control Panel delivers the ability to monitor the area for fire and release a "clean" releasing agent. Designed specifically for high risk environments, where conventional protection is not enough or waterless suppression is the preferred option, the MPC-6000 R is an intelligent releasing panel that matches the pricing of a competitor's conventional panel. Gellert emphasized, "What I like about selling clean agent fire suppression system is that the system is not required - it is desired by the customer. For example, a sprinkler system is mandated, but it can cause a lot of damage versus a clean agent, which we can come in and change out or put in to supplement the sprinkler system. This addresses their concerns and increases their confidence in the system. Then, we continue to work with them on the service side to continue the proper operation of the system and to build the relationship with the customer."

"The new Faraday products keep our business on the cutting edge in the fire protection industry," stated Gellert. "Our Regional Sales Manager, Steve Kachlik, works with us on proposals and presentations to Engineers and Architects and provides sales training to our technicians. This translates into better product understanding for them and greater efficiencies for us as a company. In today's economy as fire protection distributors, we have to think a lot smarter to keep a business profitable - Faraday helps us do this!"
